Mail Art

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

Some people think that you should keep the scrap cupboard for a rainy day but I think that working in the scrap cupboard, with a friend, is a lovely artist date.

When I come to the Treehouse I will make crumpets and hot chocolate and we can sit around writing snail mail, covered with delicious art work, to each other.

I love snail mail and always 'intend' to write more letters that tell the recipient absolutely nothing of any real importance. I remember spending idyllic hours making covered notebooks for a couple of friends as I lounged around our tent at Narooma.

If anyone is interested in sharing some snail art mail with me just let me know. It could be fun to send mail where we wear our nationality on our sleeve.

Oooh--I love this too. I only just posted something off to my sister, plastering the outside of the envelope with paper flower scraps. Love this, for certain, I would love to exchange snail mail. Fabulous idea.

I love this idea too - I love getting things in the mail - especially when its not bills. I'd love to exchange snail mail.

I used to write long letters to my cousins as a child. When I was in college I wrote letters to friends back home. Today I participate in art exchanges. The mail carrier has always been my friend and has brought such joy to my life (except on days when I only receive junk mail and bills!). I'm always game for sharing mail.

And we could make pages that could go inside visual journals and put them inside the envelope - rather than posting heavy books. Along with local bits and pieces that someone would never find without actually coming to our part of the world.

Send your snail addresses to me at lenchanteur at dailywriting dot net (never put your email address on the net using the @ because programs pick it up and send you that vile mail that is universally hated) and I will email a list to those who want to play here.

We can even have little pass the page around and all end up with one that has something from everyone.

I would enjoy this too. I used to participate in many mail art exchanges (post cards, ATCs, decos, AB pages, etc) but stopped a couple of years ago when I got overwhelmed. I would like to slowly start up again... slowly!!! lol

I was involved with mail art for about 10 years and have kept a great deal of the work. I got so much and was writing to about 40 people! Even had a mail art show at a art gallery.
I still have many boxes of rubber stamps. Once I got on the computer, I got into doing more with art exchanges and altered books. Now I am in another group that is doing art daily and posting it in the group's photo album.
I wouldn't mind doing post card mail art, but not long letters.

Oh yes, count me in, I would love to do this. I love snail mail, but hardly anyone else I know does (my daughters all use Messenger to chat to me). My address is on the list, but it will be changing at the end of this month because we are moving to a larger place. I will let you know the new address ASAP.
